Well after just on twenty four hours of travel we arrived in Moscow. Sad sack at customs seemed a bit dubious of Big Rick. Thought we had flown from Vienna, not Dubai...Rick had to prove he had not come from Vienna...luckily I kept the boarding passes.Think they were confusing Austria and Australia.
Arrived at our hotel. It is located in the coolest outdoor mall. Downside...on the third floor with NO lift. Headed out to Patriarchs Pond (4 km trip all round) for a look and checked out the architecture. It is literally a large pond in the middle of a very posh suburb. It was nice to sit...with a latte and people watch. The people are very well dressed and trendy and this pond is a get together place. Surprised by the large number of nanas wheeling little babies around...lol I assumed they were nanas. Where we are in Moscow is nothing like I'd pictured. It's buildings are old and beautiful, shops very up market, sites amazing. It's seems a happy place ..... Though Big Rick (BR) believes that most men look like mafia...hang outside cafes etc in groups of 3. However, BR IS contemplating a pair of white pants...maybe a few sizes too small and a denim jacket. That seems to be the look of many a mature male.Pizza and beer for dinner (Nick and Alex that comment was for you) and now ready to finally sleep...side note...we are 7 hours behind you and it is 9.15 pm here and it is still like it would be at 4 back home. No evening/night yet, the days are long. Kremlin and Red Square tomorrow.
Another note...it is now 3.30 in morning and I am wide awake... And it's daylight. Might have to hang in till 6 and go 3 doors down to the Russian Starbucks.
