Transylvania: Sibiu

Visited the Corvin Castle in the afternoon on the way to Sibiu. It was amazing. The bridge across what would have been the moat was awesome. We braved the line to go in...moved pretty quickly. Glad impatience and heat didn't get the better of us. It was really good. Nooks and crannies everywhere. Arrived in Sibiu. Hell it was chaotic..we got a park thank god. Stayed in a little Pensione. A nice room (though downstairs had a clear smell of "eau de sewerage"). Drainage and plumbing seems to be a real problem everywhere we go. Walked around the corner and was confronted with a brilliant pedestrian area and the main old town square...no wonder it was chaotic. Wandered to the square. Amazing opera and orchestra concert. Apparently there was a festival on...explains the thousands of people. Finally got dinner about 9.00pm. Explored the area more closely in the morning. Still beautiful, even without the concert.
